Chronicles of the Lazy Sovereign Chapter 16 takes up with Gokihong and his group of escort serving Pang Doguk, a man of the Hube Pang clan in escaping his pursuers. Gokihong envisions the Pang clan as the people who are muscular and chivalrous and think with their muscles rather than their heads. Pang Doguk seeks them to assist her to leave the mountain saying she would pay them back.

Gokihong concurs and conceals him in a barrel in their cart. On their way, Wi Yeonho (or We Yanho) is woken up in the cart. Gokihong threatens Pang Doguk to remain silent.
